Content and Goals

We start with the fundamentals of theatre and improvisation, exploring different roles and forms of expression. We may also work with simple texts and basic stage performance.

Throughout the course, you will practice being present, attentive, and creative in interaction with others. In the second part of the course, you will also have the opportunity to work with text, character work, improvisation, physical exercises, as well as speech and voice training. Reflection is a natural part of the course, and we regularly engage in group discussions about the process and the artistic work.

The goal is to give you an introduction to the craft of theatre in a playful and inspiring way. In a safe and supportive group, you will have the opportunity to explore your expression, develop your imagination, and discover the joy of being on stage. The course focuses on process, collaboration, and the courage to experiment.

Arrangement

We begin from the basics and work with the craft of theatre through acting exercises, collaboration, and concentration training. A strong emphasis is placed on improvisation exercises to develop imagination and spontaneity.

Teaching is practical and adapted to the group, with each exercise based on curiosity and playfulness rather than performance or pressure. The course provides a solid foundation and is perfect for anyone who wants to grow creatively, gain confidence, and have fun together with others.

Previous knowledge

No previous knowledge required. Suitable for both those who have tried theatre before and those who are completely new, everyone is welcome! Your development is individual and based on your experiences and your personal commitment. All teaching is in English.

Course teacher

Amanda Erixon is educated in both Muscial at Kulturama and Theater at the Stella Adler Studio in New York, where she lived for a few years. She has appeared in plays, shows and musicals. Read more about Amanda and our other teachers here.

All our course teachers undergo Kulturama's and Medborgarskolans pedagogical basic course and are offered an internal training program with the opportunity for continued personal and pedagogical / methodological development.
